Yes! One of the great things about martial arts classes is that it’s an individual sport, done in a group environment. We find that all of our students improve their focus, self control, discipline and social skills. The best part is that they don’t even realize the growth they are making! They just think they are having fun!

We encourage parents to watch their children in their kids’ martial arts lessons. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. Even better… join into some of our martial arts classes for adults. Your kids will love that you have something in common. It will build a strong family bond!
Additionally, if you wanted some ‘me-time’? Simply drop them off, and go grab a coffee. They will greet you with a huge smile when you return, because they had SO much fun!

We don’t require parents to stay during classes. However, we do find that parents who get involved with their kids martial arts lessons, truly build a solid connection as they see their child grow in confidence and skill as they progress through their belt ranks. And building strong family units is important to us at Oro Valley Martial Arts.

The journey to Black Belt is an individual one. Everyone progresses at a different pace. It can take a child anywhere between 5 to 8 years depending on the student. IF they make it there. Not everyone will get to earn a Black Belt and that's ok. However, the benefits of striving for Black Belt, like perseverance, never giving up, commitment and self discipline will lead to life-long success. Whatever your personal goal is, our instructors at Oro Valley Martial Arts will help you get there.
No, not at all! We find that people start at varying fitness levels. But, you will find that you do get fit by practicing martial arts. That's the point though. Fun workout and you get to learn new skills, build better habits and get results!
Make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can workout and stretch in. Come in a few minutes before class to fill out a waiver form.
As a father who's head over 20 years' experience in martial arts, it is very difficult to impress me, my standards are extremely high.
I cannot express this enough, our community, our country, and our world would be in a much better place if the values of what Mr. Kim and Ms. Jamie instill on their students.
Building up one self-confidence is one of the most difficult task but it's also a life core ability that can dramatically improve one's life. Every instructor, and I mean every instructor here holds tremendous values and is able to help anyone who attends this school become a better version of themselves.
I do not believe one would find a better investment in their child's development then attending this studio!
